This process will assist you to elicit you own infinite healing power, getting to the root cause of any long standing issue, fear or emotional blockage. The concept of self-psyche with emphasis on forgiveness will give newness, freedom and absolute clarity to the individual. Counselling

‘Counselling is a talking therapy that allows a person to discuss their problems and emotions in a confidential and dependable environment.’

A counsellor is trained to listen with empathy (by putting themselves in your shoes). They can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you have. Sometimes the term "counselling" is used to refer to talking therapies in general, but counselling is also a type of therapy in its own right. Other psychological therapies include psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and relationship therapy, which could be between members of a family, a couple, or work colleagues. What is counselling used for?

Talking therapies such as counselling can be used to help with many different mental health conditions, including:

    How counselling can help

  • Counselling aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional and psychological pain or making you feel uncomfortable.
  • It can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk and explore difficult feelings. The counsellor is there to support you and respect your views. They will help you find your own insights and understanding of your issues and assist you to cope and deal with your problems.

    Counselling can assist you cope with:

  • Bereavement or loss, relationship breakdown
  • Stresses: cope with redundancy or work-related stress
  • Explore issues such as sexual identity, menopausal issues
  • Procrastination - deal with issues preventing you achieving your ambitions to succeed
  • Depression melancholy/sadness to develop a more positive outlook on life
  • Anxiety, phobias - help you worry less and assist you to develop coping skills
  • Assist understanding yourself and your problems better
  • Assist you to develop confidence and investigate low self-esteem
  • Develop communication skills to assist better understand of people's points of view counselling can involve talking about difficulties or painful feelings and assist you develop skills to face the issues experienced. With the help and support of your counsellor, you will gradually start to heal and feel better.

    How many sessions do I require:

    In most cases, it takes a number of sessions before you can make head-way. A regular commitment in attending your counselling sessions, will improve the way you feel and prove successful in yielding positive results.

    What to expect from counselling:

    During your counselling sessions, you'll be encouraged to express your feelings and thoughts. By discussing your concerns, the counsellor can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, as well as identifying ways of finding your own solutions to your problems. It will be a great relief to share your worries and fears with a professional counsellor who acknowledges your feelings and is able to assist you reach a positive conclusion to move forward.

    Counselling can take place:

  • Face to face
  • Individually or in a group
  • Phone assistance
  • Email, Skype or Viber

    You may be offered counselling as a single session, or as a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months. A longer course is available if necessary.

    Trusting your counsellor

    A professional counsellor will focus on your issues, listen carefully without judging or criticizing you. With their help you will find out about how you can deal with your problems. For counselling to be effective, you need to build a trusting and safe relationship with your counsellor. Sessions are offered on a sliding scale (The Journey) or a fixed fee and for main-stream counselling sessions.

    What is Coaching?

    Is coaching for me? If you want to find out more about yourself, where you have been and where you want to go coaching is for you, it will assist you to reach your highest potential.

  • Coaching is supporting you in clarifying your goals. Directing you to access all the resources you might need, eliminating any obstacles and training you to improve specific skills needed.
  • Business Coaching and workshops can bring refinement to an individual as well as to an organization.
  • Engaging with a Coach when you engage a coach, you are willing to commit to certain coaching or workshop activities, designed to accelerate your journey to self-development and benefit from feedback in regards to your process.

    Do I need Coaching? “Often clients say I’m stuck, I’m not sure how to move forward?”

    • It all happened in March 2016 when I had terrible back pains due to a cyst between the spine. No painkillers worked as the cyst was putting pressure on the sciatic nerve causing insufferable pains down the right leg till my toe. I had pain crisis every 6 months to the point that I couldn’t walk and had to stay in bed. I remembered waking up at night due to the pain and asking my parents for painkillers.

      I had been to 5 doctors, including orthopedics and physiotherapist and most of them suggested surgery as nothing else worked. I was lucky enough during the second pain crisis, to come into contact with Ellie Lawrence that took me through ‘The Journey’ process. At first I didn’t believe in this type of healing, as I had reached a point believing that only surgery would cure me.

      Ellie told me to imagine my body and my pain as something real and living. With closed eyes my body and the pain would act like real life actors taking form like dancers in my mind. Ellie told me to imagine pain in my body, then slowly leaving my body, opening the door and saying goodbye.

      What I experienced was like a dream and at first, I felt the same but better. Everyday was a different day towards recovery, and after two months since the therapy, I have not felt the pain again. It’s been a year and a half now, the pain hasn’t returned and I believe more than ever that Ellie is a great healer, she has patience and great intuition.

    • Over the past year, my family has had 3 terrible deaths. Firstly my mom (who my children and I idolized) passed away very unexpectedly, four months later my husband committed suicide and 7 months later my moms best friend and like a second mother to me passed away, also quite unexpectedly.     About Soul Essence

    I'm Ellie Lawrence a life coach and counsellor at Soul Essence and I have found over the years of counselling, that life is challenging. Serious issues such as broken relationships, bereavement rearing children, and even illness can be demanding. In an attempt to survive this difficult life, we bury our issues deep down inside of us, and circumstantially we find that at times we are stuck, not motivated, depressed and anxious about our life and future. In my line of work people have been desperate for assistance to better cope with life. In my attempt to provide these much needed answers, I have developed a number of workshops that deal with the most prevalent life issues people live with every day.
